Sal Ferrara came to the United States at the age of 6 years old from Sicily, Italy. He started working in a bakery at the age of 10 and has been in the restaurant business ever since.
His Son, Michael, joined the business later in life and has been a large part of its success for many years.
Sal opened up his very first Pizza restaurant in New York called Mario’s. Since 1986, he has been opening pizza restaurants along the east coast.
Sal opened a restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and has grown into more than 10 locations along the east coast.
Sal established Ferrara’s Pizza in Burlington, North Carolina. Wanting to downsize, he left Ferrara’s to open a smaller shop in the area, Nonno’s Pizza.
Sal established Nonno’s Pizza in Burlington, North Carolina, serving pizza, subs, salads, and much more.
